Medium Heather Rae
Hey!
My name is Heather, and I am the Founder of The Meditating Lotus and creator of Heavily Meditated:
A Mindful Blog.
This is my story....
I was born in Ohio, during a blizzard and the NFL Playoffs, in January of 1987. I am the oldest of 3. Our amazing parents made our childhood the most incredible and memorable childhood that we still talk about to this day! I absolutely love the snow (minus driving in it) and Fall is my all time favorite season. I have looked forward to Halloween every year since I was a kid. You should also know that I have a slight obsession with Christmas. This is mainly because we had the best Christmas's growing up and I get to make it special for my children now. Sushi is a new found love of mine (only discovered it's greatness a few years ago). Although my doctor and I suspected it since the young age of 12, I did not get my official Stage 4 Endometriosis diagnosis until I turned 25. After being told I would never be able to have children, I gave birth to 2 beautiful babies, Lillian (10), and Jaxson (4). They are my world and everything I do is for them. When I married my best friend, I gained 2 step-babies, Chelsea (10), and Clayton (8). Although I am only their Step-Mom, I have always loved them as my own. It turns out my husband would be someone I went to grade school with, but didn't really know until years after graduation when we connected again. I married the love of my life and soulmate on July 8, 2016, and despite all of our ups and downs, our life together has been something worth waiting for. He has been so supportive of my dreams and my new journey and calling.
A couple morals I live by:
1.) Family first
2.) Blood doesn't always mean family, and family isn't always blood
3.) All you need is LOVE and music :)
4.) Traditions are of high importance
5.) Making memories over making money ALWAYS
6.) You cannot change the past so keep moving forward
7.) Live everyday like it is your last
8.) Treat people with the same respect that you want to be treated with
For as long as I can remember, I have loved Ballet and all things dance. My parents actually enrolled me in dance classes at the age of 3, and I have been dancing ever since. My most memorable moments were always on stage performing. I could tell a story with just my movement and expression (I have never been a fan of public speaking). I started teaching dance classes out of high school in 2005. For the last 16 years, I have had the pleasure of teaching students throughout Northeast Ohio, and believe me when I tell you this, I LIVE FOR IT! I love being a part of my student's lives, their growth, their passion for dancing and their education. It is an incredible feeling knowing that I have the potential to make a positive impact and difference in their lives.
Fast forward to November 2019. My father passed away tragically and unexpectedly. This completely changed my way of thinking and my outlook on life. In December of 2019, I had a spiritual reading to connect with my father, and it was nothing short of AMAZING! Psychic Medium Missy knew information that nobody could have known. I was blown away to say the least! During my reading, she told me that 2020 was going to be a huge year for me spiritually. Mind you, I have never been very religious, nor did I fully believe in psychics or mediums up until that point in my life. However, spirits, ghosts, guardian angels, etc., were all part of my beliefs. We lived in quite a few haunted houses growing up. All that being said, I never knew that it was possible to actually connect with the dead, and I especially never knew that I had that gift. I began meditating and making positive life changes. I started creating healthier eating habits, doing daily affirmations, reading motivational books and practicing yoga. Through all of this, I have learned to be more positive, believe in ME and really start loving myself and my body. It has been 6 months since my first mediumship class and I can honestly say my life has changed for the better. After completing Soul School and receiving my certificates, I have realized that this is my calling! Missy has shown me a totally different part of me that I never knew existed and I would not be the person standing before you today if it weren't for her. For this and so much more, I will forever be grateful! I am ready to help others the way that she has helped me, and I cannot wait to start changing lives! Thanks for reading and I hope I have the opportunity to connect with you soon!
